Refund and Cancellation Policy

Draft, pending attorney review. This document is a plain-language draft prepared for The M to describe how the studio and app work today. It is not final legal advice and must be reviewed by a licensed attorney before it is relied on.

This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work at The M, Las Vegas Dancesport Club ("The M"). It is part of our Terms of Service. Our goal is to be clear and fair so there are no surprises. If something does not seem right, email hello@the-m.club and we will work with you.

The short version

  • Fees are generally non-refundable, but you can cancel membership and future charges stop.
  • Refunds, when we grant them, are at our discretion and require a request.
  • Cancel private lessons 12+ hours ahead to avoid the fee.
  • Studio balance, gift cards, points, and rewards have no cash value and are non-refundable.

Membership

Membership is billed weekly per dancer and you can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate a partial week, and you remain responsible for charges already on your weekly tab. Once cancelled, future weekly dues stop. If you are eligible, you can also freeze your membership for a set number of weeks instead of cancelling, which pauses dues for that time.

Private lessons: cancel, reschedule, late-cancel, and no-show

  • Cancel 12 or more hours ahead. The lesson fee is voided (no charge).
  • Cancel within 12 hours, or no-show.The full lesson fee stays on your weekly tab. This covers the coach's reserved time.
  • Rescheduling is encouraged. Instead of cancelling, an eligible lesson can be rescheduled as many times as you need, free, while it is more than 12 hours away. For last-minute changes, call the studio and we will do our best.

Group classes and drop-ins

Group classes are included in membership. A la carte drop-ins are charged when you attend. Your first group class is free. If we cancel a class and cannot offer a reasonable substitute, we will credit or refund a paid drop-in.

Events, packages, and store purchases

Event tickets, packages, and store items are generally non-refundable once purchased. If we cancel a paid event and cannot offer a substitute, we will credit or refund your ticket. Package and installment terms are shown before you buy.

Studio balance (prepaid credit)

Prepaid studio balance is not refundable and has no cash value. It is meant to be used toward studio services and purchases and cannot be redeemed for or converted to cash. Any remaining balance stays available as your credit for studio use.

Gift cards, points, and rewards

Gift cards are non-refundable and are redeemable for studio services up to the amount paid, with no cash value except where the law requires otherwise. Points, rewards, cosmetics, and other virtual items are promotional, have no monetary or cash value, are not transferable or redeemable for cash, and may be changed, expired, recalculated, or removed by the studio.

How to request a refund

Refunds, when granted, are at the studio's discretion. To ask for one, email hello@the-m.club with your name, the charge or date, and the reason. If we approve a refund, the customer covers any payment-processing or refund fees, and we return the remaining amount to your original payment method. Approved refunds are typically processed within a reasonable time after review.

Card processing fees

Families on automatic payment do not pay a card processing fee; the studio absorbs it. Card payments that are not on autopay carry a processing fee shown as a separate line. Processing fees already charged are generally not refundable, since they were paid to the card network.
